Perched on a steep vacant site with sweeping southern views of Hamilton's lake Rotoroa, this 320m2 home is a stunning example of modern design. The site's land covenant created a complex design process, challenging us as designers to create a home that would be both functional and beautiful. Spread across three levels, the home features a guest wing on the ground floor, providing a private retreat for overseas family holidays & a basement cinema. The master bedroom captures breath-taking views of Mount Pirongia to the west and the shimmering lake to the south.
The exterior is clad in raw zinc and Alaskan yellow cedar, creating a sleek and contemporary aesthetic that merges effortlessly with the natural surroundings. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the choice of materials to the placement of windows, to create a harmonious and inviting living space. This building stands as a clear testament to the remarkable results that can be achieved when creativity and ingenuity are combined in architectural design.
